Ocean, a new personal productivity app, has officially launched with a mission to tame overloaded inboxes by integrating task management, meeting scheduling, and email triage into a single platform.

Instead of competing with Gmail, which dominates the email market, Ocean works directly with Gmail and Google Workspace accounts. Co-founded by Martin Dufort and early Shopify co-founder Scott Lake under BigWave Labs, the app transforms emails into actionable tasks with rich formatting, due dates, and folder organization. It also automatically extracts action items from long messages, helping users stay on top of priorities without juggling multiple apps.

Ocean’s advanced inbox triage categorizes messages from first-time senders to persistent follow-ups  and even recovers legitimate emails from the spam folder. The app also handles subscription management, standard email actions, and offers built-in meeting scheduling tools with customizable availability settings.

Currently available for iPhone, with a Mac version coming later this year, Ocean uses a freemium model. Its $67 “Ocean Blue” membership provides a year of updates, access to the Mac app, and upcoming AI features like email summarization. Users can test the service with a 14-day free trial that doesn’t auto-renew.
