Waymo has introduced a Spotify integration to its autonomous ride-hailing service, making it easier for passengers to enjoy their own playlists and podcasts during trips.

Previously, riders were limited to a handful of preset music stations, such as lo-fi beats, smooth jazz, or K-pop, with no easy way to stream specific songs. Those who wanted more control had to download the Google Assistant app, link Spotify, and use voice or text commands, a process that was unreliable and often only partially functional.

The new update allows users to seamlessly connect their Spotify accounts to Waymo’s in-car system without extra apps or complex setup. Once linked, passengers can pick up where they left off on playlists or podcasts, creating a more personal in-ride experience.

While the feature isn’t ground-breaking compared to traditional car Bluetooth systems, it brings Waymo’s entertainment options closer to what passengers expect in 2025, making the back seat of a robotaxi feel more like their own space.
