Google is launching a global expansion of AI Mode, its experimental feature that lets users ask complex questions and follow-up queries directly within Search, the company announced on Thursday. The tech giant is also adding new agentic and personalized capabilities to the tool.
As part of the rollout, AI Mode is coming to 180 new countries in English. Previously, it was only available in the U.S., U.K., and India. Google says support for more languages and regions will follow.
The agentic features allow users to find restaurant reservations, with future updates expected to include booking local service appointments and event tickets. Users can specify details such as party size, date, time, location, and cuisine preferences, and AI Mode will search across platforms to provide real-time availability and curated options. This capability is currently available to Google AI Ultra subscribers in the U.S. through Labs, Google’s experimental program. Ultra is priced at $249.99 per month.
Personalization is also being introduced, starting with dining-related searches. AI Mode will tailor results to individual user preferences based on past conversations, searches, and Maps activity. For example, someone asking for “a quick lunch spot” might see options aligned with their known preference for Italian food or outdoor seating. Users will have the ability to adjust these personalization settings in their Google Account.
Additionally, AI Mode now supports collaboration through a new “Share” button, which lets users send responses to others so they can join the conversation. Google says this feature could be useful for activities like planning trips or events.
