Apple’s long-delayed Siri upgrade could be powered by Google’s Gemini AI, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports. The iPhone maker has pushed the overhaul to 2026 and is now testing Gemini in Siri after concerns its in-house models may not be competitive against AI rivals like OpenAI, Perplexity, and Google.

If successful, Gemini could also power features in Safari and Spotlight search, expanding beyond Siri. The revamped experience is expected to blend text, photos, videos, local info, and AI summaries, while tapping into personal data for more seamless voice navigation.
