Apple is quietly testing a major Siri upgrade that could let you operate popular apps entirely with your voice, according to a new Bloomberg report.

While Apple first teased an “intelligent” Siri in 2024 that could integrate with multiple apps, the feature has yet to roll out. Now, the company is trialing a revamped Siri powered by an updated App Intents framework, enabling developers to let users access specific app functions through systems like Search and Shortcuts.

If successful, the new Siri could handle complex multi-step tasks hands-free. For example, you might ask it to find and edit a photo, then send it to a contact; post a comment on social media; or log into a service.

Apple is reportedly testing the feature with apps including Uber, AllTrails, Threads, Temu, Amazon, YouTube, Facebook, and WhatsApp. An earlier Bloomberg report suggested the overhauled Siri could officially launch in spring 2026.
