Tech entrepreneur Ethan Agarwal, who previously co-founded Aaptiv and The Coterie, is running for California governor in 2026, Axios reports.
A Democrat with strong ties to venture capital, Agarwal says he wants to tackle the state’s rising cost of living and business flight. “California could use some business and tech acumen to fix things,” he told Axios.
Agarwal’s startups raised more than $140 million combined, with backers including Y Combinator president Garry Tan and DoorDash co-founder Stanley Tang, both of whom are helping host campaign fundraisers.
