Google has rolled out a new “duplicate event” option in Google Calendar for the web, following a public request from Stripe co-founder John Collison.

On July 5, Collison tagged Google CEO Sundar Pichai on X, asking for a Ctrl-click feature to easily duplicate events, a function already common in many native calendar apps. Just over a month later, Pichai announced the update, thanking Collison for the suggestion.

The move sparked lighthearted banter on X, with users joking about Collison’s apparent ability to influence product changes. Box CEO Aaron Levie quipped, “John, can you ask Waymo to work on El Camino through the peninsula? Thanks!”

The update streamlines scheduling for millions of Google Calendar users, letting them create repeat events without manually re-entering details.
