Google is rolling out a new device protection program called Pixel Care+, the company announced Wednesday. The new plan will replace Google Preferred Care and Fi Device Protection in the U.S., with existing monthly subscribers automatically transitioned over in the coming months.
In a blog post, Google described Pixel Care+ as offering a “higher level of coverage, service, and peace of mind for Google hardware owners.” The program provides unlimited claims for accidental damage, extended warranty claims, and mechanical failures. It also includes $0 screen and battery repairs, $0 post-warranty malfunction claims, genuine Google parts and replacements, and priority access to Pixel experts.
Pixel Care+ also features self-service claims through the Google Store, optional loss and theft coverage, and free upgraded shipping on replacements, including next-day delivery.
Pricing varies by device. For example, coverage for the Pixel 10 costs $10 per month or $199 for two years.

The program is available in the U.S. starting Wednesday for eligible new devices, including the Pixel 8 and newer smartphones, Pixel Watch 2 and up, the Pixel Tablet, and a selection of Fitbit devices such as the Ace LTE, Versa 4, Sense 2, Charge 6, and Inspire 3.
Users have 60 days from purchase to add Pixel Care+. Claims can be filed directly through the Google Store or via the My Pixel app, with the option to schedule repair appointments at local service centers.
