Meta has overhauled its AI organization once again, officially splitting it into four new groups, according to an internal memo reported by Bloomberg and The New York Times.

The new division will be called Meta Superintelligence Labs (MSL), led by newly appointed chief AI officer Alexandr Wang, founder of Scale AI. The centerpiece is TBD Labs, run by Wang, which will focus on foundation models such as the Llama series, last updated in April.

The other three units will center on research, product integration, and infrastructure.

The shake-up comes as Meta faces mounting pressure to keep pace with rivals like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google DeepMind. CEO Mark Zuckerberg has been personally involved in recruitment efforts for the AI teams, signaling how central the technology is to Meta’s future.
