Meta is expanding its AI-powered voice translation tool to creators worldwide, making it easier for content to reach audiences across language barriers.

The feature is now available on both Facebook and Instagram in all regions where Meta AI is supported, the company announced Tuesday. First previewed at last year’s Meta Connect developer conference, the tool uses artificial intelligence to automatically translate creators’ voices into new languages while preserving their unique tone and style.

An optional lip-sync feature ensures translations align naturally with mouth movements. At launch, translations support English, Spanish, with more languages expected soon. The feature is available to all public Instagram accounts globally and to Facebook creators with at least 1,000 followers.Creators can activate the option by selecting “Translate your voice with Meta AI” before posting a reel.

They can also preview translations and lip-syncs before publishing, and toggle them off at any time. Viewers will see a note indicating when content has been translated with Meta AI, and those who prefer not to see translations can adjust this in their settings. To help creators measure reach, Meta is adding a new views by language metric in Insights.

Facebook creators will also be able to upload up to 20 dubbed audio tracks per reel via Meta Business Suite, expanding their content’s accessibility across languages.Meta recommends creators face the camera, speak clearly, minimize background noise, and avoid overlapping speech for the best results.

Currently, the tool supports up to two speakers per reel.Instagram head Adam Mosseri said the feature aims to help creators “reach across cultural and linguistic barriers,” opening their content to wider audiences. The rollout comes as Meta reorganizes its AI division, sharpening focus on four areas: research, superintelligence, products, and infrastructure.
