If you have ever stared at a Threads post wondering, “Where are these likes even coming from?” Threads just handed you the answers (with charts).

Meta’s Twitter rival is rolling out a beefed-up Insights dashboard that gives users a deeper look into what’s working, who is watching, and where your content is making waves. Think of it as your personal control room, without the need for a data science degree.

What’s New in Threads Insights?

Head to the “Interactions” section and you will now get a full breakdown of how your post is performing, not just a like count, but a detailed tally of likes, replies, quotes, and reposts. You will know how people are engaging, not just that they are.

Under “Followers”, you can now spy on where your fans are coming from. Threads will show top cities and countries, as well as breakdowns by age and gender. It’s like Google Analytics, but make it social.

Plus, there is a new performance trend chart that tracks your post stats over time, from 7 days to 90. So if your post flopped last week but went viral this week? Now you can see that arc play out in full HD. Perhaps the best update: Threads now shows you exactly where your post was seen, whether it was inside Threads, recommended on Instagram, or even floating around on Facebook.

Since Threads posts can be pushed across the Meta ecosystem, you will now see a percentage breakdown of where your views are coming from. It’s like being able to trace back your virality breadcrumb trail. For creators, this is a big deal. If most of your reach is coming from Instagram instead of Threads? That could change your strategy. And if Facebook is driving engagement from Boomerville? Well… do with that what you will.

You may ask why threads is doing this now. Because it is on a growth spurt. According to fresh numbers from Similarweb, Threads is no longer just the newbie in the chat.

In June 2025, Threads pulled in 115.1 million daily active users on iOS and Android, which is a whopping 127.8% year-over-year growth. Meanwhile, X (formerly Twitter, now eternally confusing) clocked in at 132 million daily actives, but with a 15.2% decline. Translation: Threads is rising fast. X is… plateauing. So yes, it makes sense that Threads is giving creators better tools now. Growth needs glue, and metrics are how you keep creators hooked.
