French AI startup Mistral AI is close to finalizing a €2 billion investment that would give it a $14 billion valuation, Bloomberg reports. Founded just two years ago by ex-DeepMind and Meta researchers, Mistral builds open-source language models and runs Le Chat, its chatbot tailored for Europe.
This would be Mistral’s first major raise since June 2024, when it was valued at €5.8 billion. Backed by investors like Andreessen Horowitz and General Catalyst, the company has already raised over €1 billion.
