Smart ring maker Ultrahuman has acquired women’s health technology company viO HealthTech to expand into advanced fertility and menstrual health tracking. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

As part of the acquisition, Ultrahuman is rolling out Cycle and Ovulation Pro, a new plug-in for its Ring AIR wearable. The tool provides users with accurate cycle tracking, ovulation confirmation, and fertility planning support. It also allows mood and symptom logging to help uncover long-term health and wellness patterns.

The plug-in leverages a temperature-sensing algorithm originally built for viO’s OvuSense fertility monitors, developed over 15 years and trained on a dataset of more than 260,000 cycles collected with medical-grade sensors. Integrated into the Ultrahuman Ring AIR, the technology delivers personalized cycle insights that adapt to each user over time.

Unlike traditional menstrual tracking apps, which often assume a standard 28-day cycle, Ultrahuman says its new solution is designed to support diverse patterns and conditions such as PCOS, endometriosis, and thyroid disorders.

The existing free Cycle & Ovulation PowerPlug will remain available, while the new premium version costs $3.99/month or $39.99/year in the U.S., U.K., EU, Australia, and Canada, with more regions to follow.

“Wearables will shape the future of health,” said Rob Milnes, CEO of viO HealthTech. “We’re delighted to bring OvuSense insights to a wider audience through the Ultrahuman Ring AIR.”
