The U.S. government has officially added OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic to its roster of approved vendors authorized to provide artificial intelligence tools to civilian federal agencies.

According to Bloomberg, the companies will now offer their AI services through the Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) , a federal contracting program that allows agencies to access vendors with pre-approved terms, eliminating the need for separate negotiations with each provider.

The General Services Administration (GSA), which oversees the MAS program, selected the AI vendors based on criteria like security, performance, and compliance standards.

This decision follows recent executive orders that shape how AI is developed and deployed across federal institutions. Among these directives are mandates ensuring that federal AI tools remain ideologically neutral and policy changes to facilitate increased energy access for AI data infrastructure.

By pre-approving these leading AI firms, the U.S. government is signaling a move toward streamlined, secure, and scalable adoption of artificial intelligence across its departments.
