Warner Bros. has filed a lawsuit against AI startup Midjourney, accusing it of copyright infringement for enabling users to generate images and videos of iconic characters such as Superman, Batman, and Bugs Bunny. The studio claims Midjourney knowingly removed protections against infringing content, calling the decision a profit-driven violation.

The suit seeks damages, the return of profits, and an injunction to halt further violations. It follows similar legal action in June by Disney and Universal over characters like Darth Vader, Bart Simpson, and Shrek. Midjourney maintains its use of copyrighted material to train AI models falls under fair use but has yet to comment on the latest case.
