Waymo will begin testing its robotaxi service at San Jose Mineta International Airport in the coming months, with commercial rides planned by year’s end. It marks the company’s first California airport approval after earlier setbacks at San Francisco’s airport.
Waymo already operates 24/7 service at Phoenix Sky Harbor, its busiest destination, where it has provided hundreds of thousands of rides since 2023. The company’s fleet now exceeds 2,000 robotaxis, deployed across cities including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Austin, and Atlanta.
Expansion continues: Waymo is preparing launches in Denver, Seattle, Dallas, Miami, Washington, D.C., and recently gained approval to test in New York City.
